What is Sushi Bake and how did it come about?
SUSHI BAKE is deconstructed sushi roll, baked in a casserole/pan and served with a side of nori sheets. It is ultimately a flavour bomb in every nori-wrapped bite – best enjoyed warm and SHARED! Although, we won’t judge if you devour a whole pan by yourself!
Sushi bake has been around for a while with recipes on the internet dating back to 2011 (correct us if we’re wrong). No one really knows the origin of sushi bakes but we’ve heard it is commonly made in Hawaii and due to COVID 19 lockdowns, sushi bake became a food trend in the Philippines! *Yay to FUSION CUISINE and creativity!*
Some would argue that it shouldn’t be called ‘Sushi’ Bake – but ‘seafood casserole’, ‘baked rice’, ‘sushi casserole’ just don’t quite do it, so… we’ll stick to Sushi Bake… #fusion #NOTtraditionalbutitsDATDELISH
If you’re skeptical about Sushi Bakes, we highly encourage you to try it at least once so you can decide for yourself whether you would like it or not.
If you don’t want to try it, that’s ok too, but…hey, DON’T KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU TRY IT! 😉
How long does Sushi Bake last/stay fresh for?
Our sushi bakes are fresh for up to 3 days – please keep in the fridge until you’re ready to eat, including leftovers.
