Vendor Biography

My name is Celine and I run this business with my partner Paolo and his younger brother Paul.

Paolo is a qualified chartered accountant;
Paul is an international student and currently works in retail and as a barista;
and I, work in International Education and am currently studying Business.

With our full time jobs and studies, we can only make sushi bakes on some weekends. However, we do try our best to accommodate requests from customers if they want sushi bake outside our batch dates.

ROLES:

I wear multiple hats – I manage the website, social media, marketing, stock, suppliers, I make the Aburi Sauce, I sauce the bakes because presentation has to be A+ … so on.

Paolo is our accountant / helps me out with pick ups and deliveries.

Paul is the main sushi bake chef (Paolo and I are the helpers).

A LIL BACKGROUND:

In Mar 2020, sushi bake became a food trend in the Philippines and Paul made it for us to try one night for dinner then we posted on Instagram.

This business was encouraged by a friend who saw that instagram story. She asked if we could make it for her as she had been wanting to try it for quite a while. I discussed it with Paul, and he agreed to make them! She loved the sushi bakes and after careful consideration + her convincing messages, DAT DELISH DISH was created.

At the time, Paul, being an international student in the middle of the pandemic back in 2020, he struggled to land a job. I saw this as an opportunity for him to make a little bit of money, so I decided to help. We offered the sushi bakes to friends and family through Instagram and we were overwhelmed with positive feedback. We then decided to make the business official so we can share it with the wider Brisbane community.
